![]() ![]() When you go up to File and Close to close it up and then go to access it again by File, Open Recent and choosing the one right at the top, before it opens, you'll be prompted to type in that password. So you'll wanna save it up with those changes. If you're successful, when you click OK, everything disappears and you're back to your document. You won't see what you're typing, so when you click OK, you'll be prompted to reenter that exact same password the exact same way you typed it in the first time. But if you don't even want people seeing, use this one at the top for opening. You would give the password out to only those who should have access to the document for making changes. You can see we can set up a password for opening the document, or if you're not worried about people seeing, just making changes to the document, you might set up a password for modifying the document. Next, we'll click the Protect dropdown button way over here to the right-hand side and then choose Protect Document. The first step is to go to the Review tab. That way, only those you're sharing with and those who know the password when you give it to them will be able to either open or modify. If you're going to be sharing documents with others and you're concerned about your documents falling into the wrong hands, perhaps they contain sensitive or private and confidential information, you can password protect your files. ![]()
